Dierks Celebrates "Home" At His "Second Home"
Dierks got to celebrate another Number One this week in Nashville! 'Home' topped the charts, making this his 9th number one party! Great job, Congress!
From Country Weekly :
Dierks Bentley picked an appropriate location to celebrate his latest No. 1 single, "Home", Monday (April 30th): the Nashville diner he often calls his "second home", Arnold's Country Kitchen.
"I've been coming here [Arnold's] since about 1994 or '95," Dierks told the assembled crowd. During a time when he was going through a rough breakup, and losing weight in the process, Dierks revealed that he ate at Arnold's nearly every day for three months. "They saved me," Dierks said.
Dierks added that "Home" was "a special song," while conceding that he wasn't sure if it would hit the top. "It had so many layers," Dierks told reporters after the ceremony. "It was just a different type of song."
When he performs the song in concert, it takes on a communal feeling. "It's a song that seems to bring the whole crowd together," Dierks noted. "I feel really blessed to have this, and to have it go all the way to No. 1 is really cool." This marks the ninth No. 1 single for Dierks.
Dierks hosted the lunchtime event for media and industry members and celebrated with one of the song's co-writers, Brett Beavers. Co-writer Dan Wilson was unable to attend.
Dierks sent thanks to radio and fans, and shared his pride via Twitter:
"we had our #1 party for "home" yesterday at Arnold's (best meat and 3 in nashville!) want to say special thanks to Country Radio and Fans..."
"..the guys and i feel lucky to get to sing and play that song every night out there and feel the groundswell of pride it stirs up. thank you"
Thank you to all the Congress members who supported this single!! Keep calling, texting, and tweeting to support our next endeavor, 5-1-5-0! Can we make 10 number ones?? I think we can!

5-1-5-0 Makes the Charts Go Loco!
In its 6th week on the charts, "5-1-5-0" - the white-hot new single from Dierks Bentley - has moved up another 5 spots on Billboard to snag the #25 spot. It had a great week at Billboard: #2 most-added; #3 most-increased spins; #4 most-increased audience. Over on Mediabase, the song flew up 8 spots to land at #26, and it was also #5 most-added and #2 most-increased spins.
If it feels like this song is blazing up the charts, that's because ... well, it is. "5-1-5-0" is behaving similarly to "Sideways" which stands as Dierks' fastest-rising single to date. Unfortunately we can't compare apples to apples, because "5-1-5-0" charted early on Billboard from unsolicited airplay. But radio has definitely taken a shine to "5-1-5-0" and it's performing slightly better than the new singles from Toby Keith and The Band Perry.
This coming week's update won't be as spectacular as they've been since it hit the charts, but that's only because there's about a 4-million audience gap between where it is now and the songs in front of it. I expect that it will move to roughly #22 on Billboard, and then crack the top 20 in two weeks. 8 weeks to get into the teens? Not bad, Dierks. Not bad at all.
This is a fun song to chart-watch. :) Keep doing what you're doing, Congress! Call, text, tweet, and email your stations and tell them it's time to get a little bit loco!

Dierks Bentley Shoots "5-1-5-0" Music Video in the Mud!

It got a little crazy at the Big Nasty ATV Park in Bloomingdale near Savannah, GA on Sunday, April 29th! Dierks Bentley was filming his music video for his new single, "5-1-5-0."
After seeing Dierks perform just 45 minutes north the night before in Beaufort, SC, a few of us "5-1-5-0 girls" (DB Congress) decided to take a drive down to the site in case it was an "open set" for the video shoot. It was! In fact, there were probably about 100 people there who were regulars at the park, already mud boggin' it up in the hot sun!
Luckily, we were under the shade of a covering, right next to the food table. So we were able to say hi to the guys in the band as they trickled in one by one.
Talent was selected from the Halo Talent Group, a full service model and talent agency offering opportunities for singers, actors, dancers and models in the Savannah community. A few weeks ago, Halo announced the casting opportunity on their website, looking for males and females that LOOK between the ages of 20-28 years old. On Thursday, they introduced the five models chosen for the all-day video shoot.
"After more than 70 submissions and a Yahoo email crash, the selections are in. The producers of the Dierks Bentley “51-50″ music video have selected the following models. Congrats Halo and Halo Models! Jay, Marshall, Caroline, Sunny and Mandy."
Jay, is THE Jay Byars from the hit TV show, Survivor: One World. He tweeted on his way to the video site:
@Jay_Byars: Headed to
Of course, @DierksBentley was tweeting throughout the day as well. Here are a few:
"video shoot today for #5-1-5-0 breaking new ground (mud?) on this one!"
"most fun I've ever had making a video. y'all are going to love it. don't even know where to start in describing it..... #5-1-5-0"
"it's just a picture...but it sums up the day today pretty well for our #5150 video shoot."
Today, Halo posted a video and some photos from the shoot.
"It was a hot day of mud slinging and mud boggin’(we just learned that term). Our three gorgeous girls and two handsome guys were front and center while filming with Dierks. It’s not every day you book a modeling gig that allows you to stand up and dance in the back of a Jeep. Dierks’personality made bearing the heat, well, bearable. He is as kind as he is good looking."
In an article by savannahnow.com, they posted a video and some photos.
"A cool, fun party atmosphere is precisely what videographers were trying to capture," said John Burke, the Nashville, Tenn., producer in charge of the shoot Sunday.
The song, “5-1-5-0,” is all about “having a good time, having the cops called on the party,” he said.
The next part of the shoot — (took place today at Roebling Road Raceway) — will feature a staged police chase, Burke said. Burke said coastal Georgia was chosen for the shoot because Bentley is touring on the East Coast and [played] a show Saturday in Beaufort, S.C., followed by a couple days off, the Big Nasty’s mud pit seemed perfect.
“This is awesome,” Burke said. “This is fun, but (producing music videos is) always stressful.”
Here are some photos by Carrie Srebro (DB Congress Rep, NC) and Amy Shepheard (DBC, DE).
The jeeps and ATVs had cameras hooked up to them for their mud runs.
The 5150 music video is expected to premier in about a month. Keep checking back with us here on dbcongress.com!
