Dierks and Knox Live it Up in "Living" Music Video

Released as a single in February, Dierks Bentley's "Living" has been climbing the charts ever since. And it's no surprise, really. This song touches everyone's soul on some level. It's full of heart and life ... a reflection of the man himself. It was only a matter of time until an official music video was released. Goodness, did the team deliver!

Earlier this week, Dierks took to social media to start teasing the video. Dierks, his 5-year-old son Knox, puppies, wave riders, pajama jam sessions ... we knew it was going to be good!

The video follows Dierks and Knox in an epic day of adventure! This is fitting, given the song's focus of making the most of every day and truly living in even the most ordinary moments.

“’Living’ certainly celebrates life’s big moments and adventures, but for me it’s even more about being intentional and present in everyday moments,” Dierks said. “Knox is at that age where he can still find the biggest joy in the smallest things, and that childlike appreciation for life is the spirit I wanted to bring to this video to remind us of difference between just being alive and actually ‘living.’”

So here it is ... living, indeed!

Accompanying this release, People took fans behind the scenes for the making of this perfect video. Take a look here!

You can also see a fan-feature music video Dierks' team released in May 2018 as a series of music videos to promote the album The Mountain.

Dierks and the guys first played this song as a gift to DBCers present at a concert in Las Vegas in December 2017. "I was thinking of everybody here, but definitely these hardcore, hardcore fans standing down here ... this would be my gift to you." I had the honor of being along the stage for that moment, and I can tell you there wasn't a dry eye around me.

This song has touched so many lives. The lyrics and music had much to live up to. This video certainly lives up to the challenge.

An InPREDible Night: Dierks Bentley Sings the National Anthem in the Stanley Cup Finals

With a (hat) trick up his sleeve, Dierks Bentley can check another item off his bucket list. Last night, he had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem before a Nashville Predators game ... in the Stanley Cup Finals, no less.

As Dierks said in an interview just a month ago, "It's one of those songs that's tough to do, but I'd be honored to get the call."

Just hours before the game, Dierks posted a video of his rally chair "in his house," leading the general public to believe he would be absent from the Game 4 festivities.

DB Congress members knew better. There's no way he would sit out a game of that importance (especially when home in Nashville)! There had to be something more behind the scenes.

Sure enough, as DB Congress Chair Ronna Clark said, "I knew as soon as they said 13x Grammy nominee!"

Despite being on vocal rest, with his iconic "whiskey-soaked grit in his voice," Dierks reverently sang our nation's anthem. For such a high-energy performer, this rendition was appropriately solemn and honoring (especially when singing "that our flag was still there"). Without fanfare or showboating, it was the Star Spangled Banner as it was written.

He even donned a Kevin Fiala jersey (unique from many artists who have worn their own name on their backs) in support of the Predators' forward who broke his leg in April.

As a Predators season ticket holder (and #1 fan), though he's been silent on social media since last night, one can only imagine the joy he felt in taking on this role.

No Bandwagon Here
His hockey love goes beyond sitting in the stands. He has spent quality time on the ice as a center for the Nashville Iceholes, giving him a "way to clear his head from the hustle and bustle of the road." He was also an honorary Predator For A Day last year.

Hockey has become a Bentley family affair, if photos and videos are any indication. Throughout the season, and especially during the Predators' playoff run, his wife Cassidy, and their kids have been cheering along. The band has been in on the action, as well, as have many friends, including Luke Bryan (with whom he facetiously takes credit for the playoff success!).

His son, Knox, is taking after dad and becoming quite the hockey player himself! (That look, though!)

Country music star and hockey player, with red, white and blue in his veins, last night's surprise performance will, no doubt, be one Dierks will "hold on" to for years to come.

*The Predators won, putting the series at 2-2 against the Penguins.

Dierks Bentley Reveals Release Date and Reason for Naming the Album, "Riser"

As hard-core fans, DB Congress reps, maybe more so than the casual fan, are consistently in a state of anxiousness, always awaiting new music from our president, Dierks Bentley!  And he is always worth the wait, and we finally have a date!  RISER will be released February 25, 2014!

"I hope the fans, when they listen to the record, I hope they hear their involvement in the record, because they really were the reason why I was able to get from one spot to the other [from his dad's death to his boy Knox's birth] and find that happiness and joy that is who I really am," Dierks admitted.

You may know that "7" is Dierks' lucky number (also the number on his Iceholes hockey jersey), so with RISER being his 7th studio album, it's sure to be  a phenomenal project, "grounded in lyrical substance with a new sonic power that spotlights Bentley's distinctive gravely voice, one of the most original and recognizable in the genre," according to the press release.

We've already witnessed a few of the songs we believe will be included, like "Bourbon In Kentucky" and "I Hold On," and if you attended Last Call Ball in June, you heard a few more, namely, the title song, "I'm A Riser," written by Travis Meadows and Steve Moakler (Read our exclusive interviews with them here and here), and "Drunk On A Plane."  At the Arizona firefighter's benefit concert, Dierks performed the personal "Here On Earth."

Other tracks that Windmills's Musical Musings says will be included are: "Hurt Somebody" (previously recorded by The Dirt Drifters), "Say You Do" and "Pretty Girls Drinking Tall Boys."

"I named the album RISER because the lyrics in that song perfectly articulate who I want to be, who I try to be," Bentley explains. "There's a lot of really intense material on this record, but there's also a lighter side that is equally important in telling the story of the last two years of my life. When I first started writing for this album, I was in a place of grief over the loss of my dad, but over the course of the next 18 months, my wife and I had our son Knox, and I ended in a place of real joy and gratefulness. Both sides of that coin are what country music has always been about, and I hope that my fans can feel how much of myself I put into this project. It's all out on the table, for sure."

Last year, we posted our exclusive interview with Ross Copperman (Tip It On Back co-writer and Riser producer), where he revealed some unique strategies and tactics to recording "Riser."

The lead single, "I Hold On," is currently at #18 on the Billboard Country Airplay radio charts. "Written by Bentley and Brett James, the track is drawing attention from other artists, critics and fans for its authenticity and emotion with Music Row calling it a "song that shakes you," and American Songwriter comparing the track to U2 with Bentley "rocking a little harder than most of contemporary country's crooners.""

Keep requesting "I Hold On," congress!  Let's get it to top ten for album release week!   We need a #1 debut!

Baby Bentley's First Photo: Daddy Dierks and Buddy Knox

It's been three months and we finally get to see a photo of Dierks Bentley's first baby boy, Knox!  Dierks Tweeted yesterday:

"watching football with my buddy knox. he wants me to give a shout out to for his new duds! ."

Karen Fairchild from Little Big Town replied: "Seriously, could he be any cuter??? Can't wait to meet him. - KF".

Lots of fans replied as well with comments like this:

So here's a baby picture of first born sister Evie (now 5), they look a lot alike, don't they?  So, Dierks, if you're reading this, next we'd love to see a picture of all three kids!
