DB DVR Alert - GACTV's "The Music Inside - Waylon Jennings: Breaking the Myth"

I remember waiting for Dierks Bentley on a cold Thursday night in March 2009 by his bus after he performed at Wild Bill's in Atlanta, Georgia. When he finally appeared, he was gracious as always and signed autographs and took pictures with about 20 fans. What I remembered most is that he told us he had to get on the bus and get back to Nashville because the next day he was going to see Jessi Colter. The excitment in his eyes and voice and smile on his face, was undeniable.

Jessi Colter, Waylon Jennings widow, is the woman behind 'The Music Inside: A Collaboration Dedicated to Waylon Jennings, Vol. 1' which was released February 8, 2011. Volume 2 is scheduled for a June 14 release, the day before what would have been Waylon's 74th birthday. Volume 3 is slated to be unveiled in fall 2011, the day prior to Waylon and Jessi's 42nd wedding anniversary.

While Dierks is not included in Volume 1, he is slated for a slot in an  upcoming Volume in the series.

GACTV is airing a special, "The Music Inside - Waylon Jennings: Breaking the Myth," several times this weekend starting tonight at 9 pm.  The show follows the making of a tribute album to one of the greatest country music icons of our time. Artists as varied as Kris Kristofferson, Alabama, Jamey Johnson, Dierks Bentley, Randy Houser, Pat Green, and Jennings' widow Jessi Colter perform and pay tribute to Waylon's most celebrated songs. Alabama lead singer Randy Owens says "What an opportunity for us to go back in the studio, play and record live like we used to, and pay tribute to a TRUE legend in music...not in country music...in music period."
