Bentley sets the tone for this year's 2016 SOMEWHERE ON A BEACH TOUR by hand-selecting breakout Grammy nominee Cam who will kick things off before powerhouse vocalist Randy Houser takes the stage.  

Newcomer Tucker Beathard, will also join Bentley, Houser and Cam on the SOAB tour. Tucker had an early immersion into songwriting via his dad, two-time BMI "Songwriter of the Year" Casey Beathard. It was Tucker's rebellious attitude as a teenager that inspired the lyrics for the chart-topping hit "Homeboy" recorded by Eric Church. You may have also seen Tucker featured in a recent episode of ABC's Nashville.

Since moving from Phoenix to Nashville in the 1990s, Bentley has established his own artistic trail in country music. Instead of rehashing proven formulas, he’s doggedly reinvented his sound and subsequently developed an uncommon mix of commercial success and critical respect. RISER debuted at #1 on the Billboard country album chart, and its trio of chart-topping singles upped his career tally to 13 No one. songs as a songwriter and artist. He’s now amassed 13 GRAMMY nominations and dozens of other award show nominations. Additionally, Bentley has been a Grand Ole Opry member for over a decade and will co-host the 51st Annual ACM Awards with Luke Bryan April 3 on CBS.

Dierks Bentley Fans React to Miles and Music For Kids Record-Breaking Event

Dierks Bentley had plenty of reason to smile big, in awe of the crowd on September 28, 2014.  He broke his own record Sunday, raising $335,479 for the kids at Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, in Nashville, Tennessee. That topped the 2013 amount of over $307,000.

The Miles and Music For Kids celebrity motorcycle ride and concert marked his ninth year and more than $2.6 million for the kids all total.

This year, a pre-event creative campaign gave a jump start to the annual fund-raiser with, Riser bird flockings and "flock" insurance.

DB Congress (fan club) reps were feeling a mix of emotions-reverence, respect, and pride for our DB Congress president and all he has accomplished because of  his huge heart! He truly does 'give it all he has to give,' to borrow a line from "Up On The Ridge." Many of them shared their most memorable moments below, happy to support him and the kids in this worthwhile event.

I loved it when he gave a shout out to George Jones' wife, Nancy, (who was watching from a roof top building) and talked about how he influenced him.  When he gave a shout out to DB Congress for being there and mentioned Riser birds and the pilots in the crowd, I know my friend Jessica and I were proud to be part of congress and we were repping our pilot outfits! It was my first MM4K. I loved everything. The way people from all over the country gathered to support Dierks and his cause was amazing. I love both making new friends and meeting up with "old" friends. Traveling alone isn't so bad when you know your DRT friends will be there. Picking them up from the airport and sharing a favorite spot for lunch is especially fun. For me, Saturday night's Indy concert was the first time D never seemed to know I was at a show. Knowing he's gotten so big that so many people are there to see him and that he is so in the moment of entertaining and enjoying every minute of it is bittersweet. Seeing him on Sunday at the dealership saying quick hellos to everyone, getting a hug and a how are ya... Always great. When I told him awesome show last night, he looked at me and questioned "you were there?" I think he felt bad for not having seen me, and yet you could tell he seemed humbled that fans would drive such distances to attend multiple shows back to back. He's the real deal folks!

David Mattingly, DBC rep in Kentucky, coordinated the annual pre-party for MM4K9. They had dinner/drinks and some card signing at Joe's Crab Shack in downtown Nashville Saturday night before the ride/concert on Sunday.   Reps brought with them some 'Get Well' cards for the children at Vanderbilt. "This is a huge hit and the hospital staff appreciates and acknowledges our efforts," David posted.

Each rep and each of the 176 get well cards received a Dierks Bentley guitar pick from the current Riser Tour. Janet Marlborough flew in from California to help sign cards and posted this photo:

DIERKS ANNOUNCES 2ND LEG OF 2014 RISER TOUR

PLATINUM selling singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley announced that a second leg has been added to his 2014 RISER TOUR.  The 20 city run begins Oct. 2 in Stockton, CA and runs through the  end of the year with special guests Randy Houser and Eric Paslay on the US dates and Houser and rising Canadian artist Tim Hicks on the stops north of the border. Flocks of Riser Birds began descending on Nashville this week to help announce country music star Dierks Bentley's ninth annual "Miles & Music for Kids" celebrity motorcycle ride and all-star concert scheduled for Sun., Sept. 28 in Nashville, TN.   Randy Houser, Kip Moore, Jon Pardi  and Chris Young have been tapped as the first artists to take part in the event, which has raised over $2.5 million to date for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals across the country.

Dierks Bentley Rallies to Raise over $476,000 for 19 Fallen Firefighters

With just over a week to organize the event, Arizona native Dierks Bentley led the charge with the help of The New KMLE Country @ 107.9, 92.9 KAFF Country and artist friends The Band Perry, Randy Houser and David Nail.

Family members of the 19 firefighters and the sole surviving firefighter were in attendance at the event in an emotional yet celebratory night of music. Bentley honored the fallen firefighters with a photo tribute during his first-ever performance of brand new song "Here On Earth" and kicked off a special version of "Home" with a bagpipe intro by the Rural Metro Pipe and Drum Corp.

Many DB Congress were in attendance repping the fan club and supporting the cause.  California Rep, David Watts, won last minute tickets to the fundraiser.  He tweeted from the show:

"@dbcongress Hey...Did I mention @DierksBentley did a new song off #RISER?! #HereOnEarth. There wasn't a dry eye in the house."

Dierks holds up the check for $442,000 but that didn't include all the t-shirt sales and donations, and an on stage auction where two guitars signed by all the performers each going for around $25,000.

WEEK 6: IWMYCYE CRACKS TOP 30

This week, "I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes" cracks the Top 30 on the Billboard Top Country Songs chart, and lands at #29. WOOHOO! (I personally love it because it's so much easier to see where it is.)

I know it seems like it's taken forever to get to this point, but compared to other songs, it isn't doing too badly. Case in point: "Long Line of Losers" by Montgomery Gentry also cracked the Top 30 this week, coming in at #30 -- in its 12th week on the charts. "Honky Tonk Stomp" by Brooks & Dunn is at #26 this week, in its 5th week, and you have to remember that particular song is likely getting a boost from the announcement B&D made about calling it quits next year. Closer to the top of the charts, "Boots On" by Randy Houser is at #2 this week, but it's taken a whopping 28 weeks for it to get there!

So, frustrating as it may seem, especially after the immediate success "Sideways" had on the charts, IWMYCYE isn't doing too badly. It's at 195 of 226 stations, which is 59 stations more than last week!!! Pat yourselves on the back, Congress, it's obvious our efforts are paying off!
