Dierks is set to host the 7th Annual ACM Honors event, which will take place on Tuesday, September 10th at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, for a second consecutive year. Those being honored and scheduled to appear include Special Award recipients Jason Aldean, Guy Clark, Lady Antebellum, Lorrie Morgan & Jesse Keith Whitley (on behalf of the late Keith Whitley), Blake Shelton and Tommy Wiggins.

Ten time Grammy nominee Dierks Bentley, just received his 11th all-time nod during tonight's Grammy Nomination Concert. And he's up against some tough competition for the Best Country Solo Performance, to be awarded at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards February 10, 2013, at 8 pm EST on CBS.
Dierks's nomination for his performance of "Home" will compete against Eric Church's "Springsteen," Ronnie Dunn's "Cost of Livin'," "Wanted," by Hunter Hayes, Carrie Underwood's, "Blown Away," and the CMA "Song of the year Award winner, "Over," performed by Blake Shelton.
The Nomination concert was held in Music City (Nashville, TN), at the Bridgestone Arena, where Dierks performed live with The Band Perry. They sang an impressive rendition of "Jackson," honoring the late Johnny Cash, in perfect harmony.

Dierks Bentley's evening at the Academy of Country Music Awards last night started out with a walk on the red carpet with wife, Cassidy and an interview with GACTV's Storme Warren:
One of the first awards of the night was Song of the Year, and DB Congress collectively held our breath hoping to hear our president's name called. And the song of the year goes to....."Crazy Girl," by The Eli Young Band. Sighs of disappointment from the at-home audience, but Dierks was the first one to jump up out of his chair to genuinely congratulate his tour mates. It was just a few months ago that DB surprised EYB with a congratulatory cake on stage to celebrate Crazy Girl going to #1--their first ever.
I'm guessing the highlight of the evening for DB was his introduction by his idol, Bono, from the legendary U2. Bono said this about his '"friend" Dierks,
"Dierks Bentley's music reaches all the way from Nashville to my kitchen in Dublin. When he sings 'Home,' I feel patriotic about America. And I'm not even American. I think anyone who hears it understands that America is not just a geography. It's not just a country. It's an idea. I think country fans get that deeper than most."

Country Music Is Love named Dierks' performance as one of the top ten moments of the night:
"Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley Pay Homage to America- Labelmates Keith Urban and Dierks Bentley undoubtedly delivered two of the best performances of the night. Urban honored the troops when he sang the self-penned “For You” from the Act of Valor soundtrack and Bentley delivered a heartfelt performance of his patriotic No.1 single “Home.” Both performers received a standing ovation."
When Blake Shelton accepted his Male Vocalist award, he quoted the lyrics from "Home:"
"...I was sitting back there...repeating the lines to Dierks' song [Home], been a long hard ride, got a ways to go...that's still how I still feel, but I'm proud to take this home tonight..."
Today, Dierks tweeted:
"w/ friends catching up on last night. humbled and honored by bono's introduction to our performance of HOME. equally so by your tweets."
Later the Eli Young Band tweeted: "Thank you to everyone who believed in Crazy Girl and us! I can't believe we won an ACM! Holy cow!" to which Dierks replied:
Even without the win, Dierks was so humble and inspirational. He's a class act. That's why we'll always be fans for life--award or not. As the song says, "I won't lose hope" that someday he'll get the industry recognition he deserves.
After getting stuck at #9 for the past 2 weeks, Dierks Bentley's latest hit "Am I the Only One" climbed one more spot on Billboard this week to #8, however held steady, again, at #9 on Mediabase. Blake Shelton's "Honey Bee" held the top spot over 4 non-consecutive weeks, which unfortunately caused a bit of a logjam within the Top 10. Now that he's set a new single to be released, there should be movement once again at the top of the charts, which should help Our Prez get this 8th #1 hit.
What is sure to continue to propel the song forward is the great reception it's still receiving from country fans - "Am I the Only One" moved to #4 on the Callout America chart this week, with only .6% of respondents saying they "strongly dislike" the song. Additonally, "Am I the Only One" saw its rating climb on the Radio Feedback chart, as well (where it is #13).
Hopefully, we'll hear about a release date for the upcoming album - so when DJs introduce the song, they can say, "From his upcoming CD due _____, here's Am I the Only One!" Keep calling, emailing, texting, and tweeting your DJs and let them know we are all still getting our good times on!
"Dierks Bentley and Hollywood seem to be synonymous with a great show and this year was no exception. Hearing about this show I recalled what a great time I had at the 2008 pre-Grammy show [at the Knitting Factory] and was excited to find out what would be in store for us this time around.
The Troubadour is, to me, the essence of a vintage, Hollywood music venue -- intimate, it’s got a good vibe and it holds a fun history. With maybe 20 feet between the stage and the bar at the back of the room we knew it would be a cozy show and a set list packed with great music.
The show started off with a few of Dierks’ own songs but then he began mixing things up for the night with only one rule -- “one for the fans, one for the legends.” Shows like this are always a fun departure from the ‘normal’ show as there are no rules or set lists. With each special guest strolling out on stage, some had a plan and some, like Zac Brown, figured it out once they were out there but that’s what made it fun and kept it interesting. ‘Crossroads’ with Sam Bush was a definite highlight to the night along with the humorous ‘Diamonds Make Babies.’

In preparation for the new year, The Boot asked country starsabout their resolutions and how to cure a hangover.
Dierks Bentley says there's not really a cure for a hangover. "I think January 1 is universally accepted as a dog, I mean, a little hair of the dog, I guess. But just water and stay on the couch. There's no real sure-fire cure for that."
Blake's cure for a hangover? "I got some feel good pills and a red gatorade by my bed, ready to go."

Media Question: Did you listen to the Grand Ole Opry growing up in Oklahoma & why do you think the Opry has had such a longevity as it has celebrated 85 years?
Blake Shelton: I watched the Grand Ole Opry growing up - I don't get....you know they say you can get Channel 650, it's clear across the nation, & man my crappy radios in Oklahoma, they don't work, it needs to be on TV...but growing up, you know, it was on TV, & it was presented by Purina all the time, I remember that...The reason why I think it's lasted so long, is the same reason I think that Country music has lasted so long & to me Country music as a whole embraces change...things have to evolve to survive & music is no exception to that...you can look at other genres in jazz or blues...& they are not big industries. Pop, Rock & Country are big industries...they adapt, they change, they keep following the youth. I'm sure when George Jones came in with the "White Lightnin'" those old-timers were like, eh, that ain't Country... damn rock-a-billy. I'm sure he pushed the envelope...& every generation, we seem to embrace that type of change.
The Opry inducting me...it's shocking b/c I don't really fit the mold of who the members are, when you walk up & down the hallways b/c you see the other generation before. But that's what's happening now & it's weird because that's what we're doing now...& when you add me & Carrie Underwood & Dierks...it's that passing on the torch & that's why it is still here today...I think we'll find that as devastating as that flood was to Nashville & to this building ...I think it's going to turn out to be really important & a great thing for the Grand Ole Opry, for people to have seen for a second...that could've gone away...I think it's a rebirth.

Feel That Fire, on the charts for 20 weeks (feels like 200!), is now positioned as the next top song in the nation, at #2 this week!
