Dierks earns an ACM nomination

Nominations for the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were announced this morning and we were quite pleased to see Dierks on the list! He received 2 nominations (composer and artist) for 'Song of the Year' for the current single, and title track of his new cd, Home.

Dierks appeared to be excited about the nomination. So excited he tweeted this picture:

Congress members from around the world want to wish Dierks all the luck on winning a much deserved award for such a great song. Hopefully a performance too...

Dierks Nominated for ACM Album of the Year

Dierks Bentley's name was announced as an Album of the Year nominee for the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards.  The press conference was held this morning at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum in Nashville.

Country superstars Miranda Lambert and Ronnie Dunn read the nominations live during CBS’ The Early Show broadcast.  Blake Shelton will join forces with country music star Reba to host the awards broadcast LIVE from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 8:00 PM live ET/delayed PT on the CBS Television Network.

This nomination for "Up On The Ridge" follows a CMA and a Grammy album nod.  While the CMA went to Miranda Lambert for Revolution, the Grammy (Feb 13) and ACM awards are still up for grabs!  We know all the DB Congress feels it deserves to win.  Let's hope Storme Warren was right when he texted Dierks:  "Hold on to this text.  You will win a Grammy for this album." 

Dierks tweeted and posted his feelings early this morning on facebook:

"not much sleep, songs in head. but hearing that RIDGE was nom for ACM album of the year is like a really strong cup of good good coffee"

"I want to start by saying a HUGE thx to the ACM and the voters. really special album for me. but it all comes down to the fans on this."

Then an hour later...

Obviously, the Academy of Country Music was NOT thinking about all of Dierks Bentley's outstanding achievements in 2009.

What were they thinkin' when they didn't nominate Dierks Bentley for TOP MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR? Darius is great and he and DB are buds, but Dierks deserved that 5th spot.

What were they thinkin' when they didn't nominate Dierks Bentley's Feel That Fire for ALBUM OF THE YEAR? He stretched his vocals to new levels with FTF, debuting the album at #1, two number one singles (FTF and Sideways, one #2 single (I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes). Really? What's it gonna take?

What were they thinkin' when they didn't nominate Dierks Bentley for ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR? It's not like they had to stop at 5 nominees--there are 8--and it's fan voted. Bentley belts out his hits and bounces all over the stage every single night, engaging the crowd from front row to the rafters. He's like the energizer bunny--he's MY Entertainer of the Decade!

What were they thinkin' when they didn't nominate Dierks Bentley for SONG OF THE YEAR [Awarded to Composer(s)/Publisher(s)/Artist(s)]. Cowboy Cassanova? Really? Compared to the #1 Feel That Fire? Too bad Beautiful World wasn't released as a single--should have been Song of the Year.

What were they thinkin' when they didn't nominate Dierks Bentley and Patty Griffin's Beautiful World for VOCAL EVENT OF THE YEAR opting instead for Seeing Stars (Jack Ingram featuring Patty Griffin). No offense to Jack, but Beautiful World was so much more impactful and it was nominated for a Grammy!
