Dierks Bentley and Jon Pardi get "Strait" to classic country on the "What The Hell" Tour

Whether you were born wearing cowgirl boots or just donned your first pair at a recent "What The Hell" Tour concert, there are some country classics with which everyone can sing along.

So when Dierks Bentley and Jon Pardi decided to have some extra fun on tour, honoring one of their biggest heroes was just too good to pass up.

Man, did they do it justice.

During a recent “What the Hell” Tour concert, Dierks and Jon, after a time of banter and joking with the crowd, led the band (and entire audience!) in the George Strait 1987 hit “All My Ex’s Live in Texas.”

One fan* posted a video of this talented performance, which you can watch here (song begins at 1:57):

George Strait holds a special place in Dierks’ heart. Early in his career, Dierks had the privilege of opening for George on tour. At one of those concerts, Dierks met up with his childhood sweetheart, Cassidy, again (who would later become his wife!). On that same tour, when in Dierks’ hometown of Phoenix, Ariz., George played “I Just Want to Dance With You” because he knew it was Dierks’ mom’s favorite song.

From growing up listening to George through his parents, to opening for George on tour, to now headlining his own show and paying homage to his hero, Dierks certainly has a connection with King George.

As Dierks said in a recent interview, “He is tied into my family in many, many ways.”

One more unforgettable way was just added to those memories. It was worth every mile.

DBTV - Episode 57: Australia

Dierks Bentley's videographer, Ryan, really outdid himself this time! He captured the beauty of Australia, the onstage energy of DB and the crowds, and the humorous slapper of da bass, Cassady Feasby's oceanside antics!

Dierks Bentley Appears In Kevin Fowler's "Beer"

Kevin Fowler's new video, "Hell Yeah, I Like Beer," features a few cameos by Dierks Bentley.

Ask Kevin Fowler how’d he’d describe his own music and he doesn’t think twice before responding: “It’s country with a bad attitude. It’s country with an edge. It’s just beer-drinkin’, hell-raisin’, good-time music.”

Watch the video below and look for all the DB appearances! Leave a comment describing the second cameo by Dierks and you could win a DB Jager Tour poster!

Rising star Dierks Bentley makes a stop in Tacoma

ERNEST A. JASMIN; ernest.jasmin@thenewstribune.com

Brad Paisley might be the main attraction Saturday night (2-28-09) at the Tacoma Dome. But a lot of fans will be equally stoked for his opening act, hunky rising country star Dierks Bentley. The singer, best known for anthemic hits “What Was I Thinkin’” and “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go),” will perform cuts from his new disc “Feel That Fire” during his 45-minute opening slot. We caught up with him just to get an idea of what to expect Saturday.

Jasmin interviews Dierks about the tour highlights, video treatments, The tone of the Feel That Fire album, and special guests on the CD. "It’s got everything in the past (fans have) always dug, as far as the rowdy stuff and the sexier stuff," replied Dierks about the album. When asked about the set list, Dierks said, "It’s a fun show for us to play. There’s zero fluff. Not that there ever was, but it’s really tight."
