The Burning Man 2019 Tour Hits The Road In January

While it was hinted to in a recent interview, having the full details of the upcoming Burning Man 2019 Tour has us on a mountain high!

The details came available first thing this morning with this announcement:

Joined by Jon Pardi, Tenille Townes and the ever-amazing Hot Country Knights, the tour takes Dierks and the team to 24 stops across the US and Canada.

When asked what will make this tour different than the Mountain High Tour that just ended, he replied, "It’s a great show, I hate to tweak it too much. There are some subtle things we’re going to do for all those fans that come a long distance and travel to show after show, but for the most part, the guts remain from last year. What makes it fun for us is changing up who’s on the road with us. ... I’m on the road with Jon Pardi and Tenille Townes, they’re just as important as anybody out there as far as making sure the vibe is right and that the experience is unique for the fans."

Makayla Lynn Performs Cavendish Fest with Dierks!

Eleven year old, Makayla Lynn, posted an open letter to Dierks Bentley on dierks.com.  The singer/songwriter will be playing tonight at the Cavendish Fest on Prince Edward Island, Canada.  She feels it would be inspiring to meet Dierks and get advice on her music career! Let's hope he reads this!  Good luck, Makayla!

Performing with you in Cavendish (and I am only 11 years old)

Dear Dierks Bentley,

My name is Makayla Lynn and I am an 11 year old singer / songwriter / guitarist from Nova Scotia, Canada. I have been asked to play this summer in Cavendish Beach, PEI with you! This will be my second time performing there and I am SO EXCITED!!! I am the youngest performer ever to play there. Last year I was hired for one set but ended up playing 3. I am back again this year playing all 3 days as well.

Next week I will be releasing my second cd. “The Music In Me”. It is an acoustic collection of my favourite songs I wrote over the past year. I play all my own guitar and piano on the cd this time as well. I recorded it to have to take to Nashville when I go in October!

I know I will probably bump into you in Cavendish but it would mean the world to me to actually get to meet you and talk to you in person. I work so hard everyday and last year I was fortunate enough to have gotten the chance to talk to all of the headliners. I felt so comfortable with them and I truly felt like that was where I was meant to be!

I am not sure you will ever get to read this letter but I just thought it was worth a try since we will be only feet from each other and I don't want to take for granted I will get to say hello. I would rather be able to meet you at a meet and greet if you have one. It would be so inspiring to meet you and listen to any advice you may have for me. (Plus I have a lucky guitar that has been signed by everyone I have played with so far and I hope you will too!)

Sincerely,
Makayla Lynn

DB shows some love for Canada

Dierks Bentley performed on Friday night at the Queen City Ex. Bentley last came to Regina in 2009.
Dierks performs in Regina, Saskatchewan

Canadian Dierks fans were thrilled to have him back after his last show in Regina almost two and a half years ago (with Brad Paisley, 2/09).  It's obvious that Saskatchewan loves Dierks and he returns the feeling.

For those die-hard Bentley fans in attendance, and it appeared there were thousands in that category, the 15-song, 75-minute set certainly met their expectations.  It was obvious that Bentley was enjoying the evening and he wasn't shy about chatting up the audience.  A frequent visitor to Canada from the early days of his career, Bentley admitted he still gets nervous going through customs.
"Going through customs is always interesting...Even though I've been up here lots, I still get a little nervous...so when they asked me today, 'What are you doing up here?' I told them I was coming to play some country music and drink some cold beer."
Bentley also provided another reason he enjoys coming to Canada.
"It's nice to be in a part of the world where I can admit I'm a hockey fan and a hockey player and not have the people look at me like I've got three heads."

It appears that Dierks' ice-loving Canadian fans make him feel right at home when he travels north of the border, eh!

DBC Member of the Week - Spunkyboo(Marlene)

Marlene, or you might know her as Spunkyboo, is our Member of the Week from Toronto, Canada.

My favorite Dierks Bentley song is between "Come A Little Closer" and "Beautiful World".

My favorite Dierks Bentley video is without a doubt "COME A LITTLE CLOSER"!

The first time I heard the song, "What Was I Thinkin'", and saw the video - I was hooked!

"I call the radio stations are request them to play all of Dierks songs. I recruited my best friends who are pop music fans to becoming true Dierks Bentley fans. I e-mail and request different country stations to play Dierks' music."

"I've never had the honor of meeting Dierks, getting his autograph or speaking to him. Most DBC fans here have had that honor, but I'm speaking from my heart of the way I feel being a Dierks Bentley fan. I'm just honored to be a fan of his and be a member of the fantastic board."

The DBC currently consists of 527 total members!
Thanks to Marlene, Raulphotos from Michigan, and gregb511 from California for joining and supporting Dierks! Welcome to the DBC!

NEW PUBLIC JOURNAL - 2/21/09

Dierks posted a new Public Journal on dierks.com and on his MySpace:

from the depths of canada...
Posted: February 21, 2009
whats up everyone. we are pretty far along in our canadian tour with brad and the shows have been great...as have the extracurricular hockey activities. i had a chance to play a lunchtime pickup game in hamilton, skated solo in winnapeg and just practiced shooting, played "pond" hockey on a watered down section of cement in windsor, and got to practice with the saskatoon blades in...saskatoon. that was a huge highlight...checkout the link saskatoon blades..."dierks bentley practices with blades" under the 'blades video' player on the right of the homepage.

there is also some footage from the pond hockey game where i took a huge digger (whats new...do it on stage at least twice a year!)...but thats for fan club only for now...that one hurt and is fairly embarrassing!

speaking of footage..im working on putting together a piece that has all the album release week craziness...its taking me awhile to assemble all the footage but i think you will love it. new york, LA, daytona and everything in between. it will be may thank you to you guys for all the support youve given me and the album...and for the number one song and album. very humbling...very awesome. i post my affection for the folks in our fan club on that journal fairly regularly...but for anyone just cruising by the website that isnt in the fan club but has been part of supporting my career: thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support...thanks for giving me and my band and crew and all the folks that have worked hard on this album and its release a great ride! ill get this footage put together asap!

God bless,
d

MANDY & TERRY'S WILD CANADIAN DIERKS ADVENTURE

A three-string of Dierks Bentley concerts started on Thursday, Feb. 12th for Mandy and Terry--girlfriend/boyfriend and DB Congress reps from London, Ontario, Canada. They were both fortunate to win the Meet & Greet Lottery prior to their hometown show. They had quite an adventure, hopping on busses and trains to transport them to experience the live music of their favorite artist. Read all about this unique DRT (Dierks Road Trip):

"We finally arrived at the concert venue just before the doors opened and picked up our meet and greet passes. We got held up in line at the bus terminal buying our bus tickets to go to the next day's concert. There weren't many people at the M&G since the room was really small--that was a good thing. We got our pictures taken and Dierks actually remembered us from last year. Someone in the M&G gave us an extra CD booklet so we could get it signed since we left ours at home by accident. Thank you so much, Lynn!

We ended up showing Dierks Terry's speech-enabled cell phone that reads the computer screen out loud [Terry is completely blind]. We took pictures with the phone rather than carrying a camera. When we showed him the phone, we told Dierks the story of the display picture on it...we bought a new stereo system recently and Terry decided to sit in the box like he used to do when he was a kid. Dierks thought that was funny. Dierks talked to the group about his Jay Leno experience. After the group photo, we got a hug and then unfortunately we had to leave to let others come in.

Crystal Shawanda opened. I only recognized a few songs, but she was really good (she's a Canadian singer). Dierks was great as always. Not enough songs though but Sideways was a good one for sure [It's also the second single from the Feel That Fire album, scheduled for a country radio add date of March 2]. Brad Paisley was good too--a little video crazy, but still good. At one point he started singing our (Canadian) national anthem and everyone finished it with him. At another point he called us Canadians, "God's frozen people."

We didn't sleep too much Thursday night with being excited for Friday's concert in Hamilton. When we tried to leave it got a little nuts. We went to the bus terminal but no one could tell which gate the bus was leaving from, so we ended up being switched to 3 different gates before we boarded our bus. When we got to Hamilton we had some food and the lady in the food place gave us the wrong directions to the venue so we got lost walking there and arrived right as the concert started. We were directed to the wrong seats and had to switch around after the opening act. This concert was good too--but again, not enough Dierks. Brad was teasing Keith Urban and Kenny Chesney by saying tell those wimps I said "hi," because I'm not scared to come up here in the cold (Keith and Kenny are coming in the summer).

On Sunday, we took the train to to the Windsor show. That was crazy because when we got to the train station the train was delayed 90 minutes and we had to call our friend that was giving us a place to stay and let her know we would arrive late so she picked us up at the train station and took us to the casino. We grabbed some food and just made it 15 minutes before show time. We loved hearing the new songs (Sideways, I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes, Beautiful World, and Feel That Fire). Someone gave him flowers and was joking they wanted his guitar in return.

We spent some time after the show telling a guy about the fan club and he may join. His name is Jim so we'll have to watch for him."

So, Jim, if you're reading this, go to dierks.com and join the fan club and come back here and join the DB Congress--we'll be waiting. You could be DBC rep #401!
