Be sure to pick up the March 3, 2014 issue of Country Weekly magazine, featuring our favorite artist, Dierks Bentley on the cover!
The 6-page feature article, Rising Son, tells Dierks' story over the last 18 months and how the album "Riser" came to be--from the death of his dad to the birth of his son, and how that changed him.
Look for the nickname his daughters called his dad. Appropriate, don't you think?

Happy Birthday To Us, DB Congress!
Happy birthday, DB Congress! Six years ago today, April 21, 2007, the Dierks Bentley Congress formed in "Dierksville" on the old dierks.com site, with just 12 fan club members. Now we're 756 representatives strong and growing every day!
In a November 2006 interview in DeKalb, IL, Dierks said that his fan club was like his "congress." Here's an excerpt:
"I try to keep that connection with the fan club as close as it can be. To me they're like the congress of the fans. They're the elected officials that actually pay money to be in your fan club and I really listen to them and I want them to feel like they're really part of this growth and all this stuff that's happening..."
In early April 2007, "Long Trip Alone" was hovering near the top of the CMT Top 20 Video Countdown, and half a dozen of us fan club members were voting daily on CMT.com. But that was not nearly enough people, and I realized it was going to take an "act of congress" to get the video to #1. Remembering that interview, I started the official thread (DB Congress Headquarters) in Dierksville on dierks.com. to rally other fan club members to help. And it worked! LTA spent 3 consecutive weeks as the #1 video!
We are:
Our mission:
Our mission is to promote Dierks daily, using every form of modern media--Blog, Twitter, Facebook, email, text and word-of-mouth. We call radio and request his songs. We vote for him on various websites. We wear his shirts and go to his concerts every chance we get! Click here for "Current Campaigns.
Our history:
When dierks.com was re-launched in 2009 we lost Dierksville. So, we started our own website, dbcongress.com, on February 1, 2009 as a way to provide a place to list our reps and campaigns and help everyone keep up with all things Dierks! I had an opportunity to meet Dierks a few days later when the "Feel That Fire" album launched and he told me he could not believe how one little thing he said three years before had become this big thing (DB Congress). In March 2009, Dierks told us he liked the name so much, he wanted to make it the name of the fan club, and asked our permission! Of course we were honored!
We've even been published in Country Weekly a few times!
It’s an honor to serve as a member of the DB Congress and to be a Dierks supporter for life -- with no term limits! With DB as our President, there’s no tellin' what we might do, no!
"It's been a long hard ride, got a ways to gobut this is still the place that we all call home."
"'cause same, no we're not the same, but that's what makes us strong."
(-Dierks Bentley, "Home")

Dierks Fans--Friends For Life
If you're in the DB Congress (Dierks Bentley Fan Club), you're part of the family. We told you about Larissa, a DBC Rep in Kentucky, who died earlier this year. The DBC all rallied together to show our respects and to honor her memory by donating to her two favorite charities.
"Losing a fellow fan is like losing a member of the family--the Dierks Bentley Fan Club family." (Granny Ann Tate, DBC Rep, AL)Country Weekly's Steve Morley felt this fan story was worthy of an entire page in the October 10, 2011 issue! Be sure to pick up your copy in stores now!

Dierks is 'The Buzz' in Country Weekly!
Country Weekly's, "The Buzz," features Dierks Bentley in the January 31, 2011 issue. Storme Warren, host of GAC's Headline Country, cleverly wrote the "Fishin' for a Grammy" article, demonstrating his obvious personal rapport and pride for our DB Congress president and his recent project, Up On The Ridge, which is nominated for a Grammy.
Storme says, "When Ridge was first released, I texted Dierks this message: "Hold on to this text. You will win a Grammy for this album." His response? "Thanks! I'm hanging on to it. But what category? Bluegrass or country?"
The Jan. 24th issue includes Dierks and a fan on the Stars Up Close page. Be sure to pick up your Country Weekly magazines to read both stories!

The Reason He Rides: Country Weekly Reports on Dierks Bentley's MM4K
Dierks Bentley landed a three-page feature article with some great photos in the November 22, 2010 Country Weekly issue. Country Weekly spoke to Dierks at his fifth annual Miles and Music For Kids event. He talks about the reason he rides motorcycles and raises funds for sick kids. "More and more bikes every year. The support from the community is always a surprise. You never know what to expect...it's a great energy when you get a bunch of motorcycles together all going down the street together...it raises awareness." The ride/concert raised over $250,000 for Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville in October. Be sure to buy your copy if you don't subscribe to Country Weekly.

COUNTRY WEEKLY RATES BENTLEY'S 'RIDGE' 4.5 STARS
Dierks Bentley's Up On The Ridge album is not due for release until June 8, but copies were already on sale after some of his UOTR shows and available for pre-order through the fan club.Country Weekly's review calls it a "landmark masterpiece from Dierks", "exceeds expectations", "some of Dierks' most poignant songwriting to date," and "artisitic" are all terms used to describe the album.
CW's 4.5 rating translates to more than Outstanding, but just shy of an Instant Classic.
This review is a welcome improvement to the review of Long Trip alone, which only garnered 2 stars.
Be sure to pick up your copy of the June 7 issue, or keep checking your mail box if you're a subscriber! It's a keeper!

COUNTRY WEEKLY'S GOT A LOT OF LOVE FOR DIERKS
You may recall Dierks Bentley made the cover of Country Weekly twice in 2009--April 13 and September 21. So far in 2010, no such luck, but CW showed lots of love for DB nonetheless in the last three issues alone:April 19

Page 58 - Flashback: El Paso/Marty Robbins; OK, again, doesn't mention Dierks, but hey, Bentley's radio show, The Thread was all about this Grammy winner on 4/19, so it's relevant!

Page 38-40: Golden Threads-Dierks Bentley ties together his love of bluegrass, country and folk music with a radio show, a tour and a new album; major DB love here! Learned at least on thing I didn't know...that this radio gig is only for a year. Favorite quote:
"A lot of times I'll be on stage at a concert and I'll get off on some tangent and the guys in my band will be like, 'Dude, just sing the song. Stop talking and start singing.' They give me grief."
Be sure to pick up this issue and read the article to find out who Dierks is planning to have on his radio show for future episodes.Page 56: Stars Up Close-Delighted by Dierks Laura Rayer, Dexter MI, is a member of the fan club and shares her Battle Creek, Michigan Meet and Greet picture with Dierks.

COUNTRY WEEKLY FEATURES ANGELA, DIERKS AND GEORGE
You may remember the "Dierks is Her George Jones" blog I did back in December 2009. Well, I thought it was such a powerful story that I emailed it to Steve Morley at Country Weekly, thinking it would be great for the "Draw A Star" section. He loved it so I put him in touch with Angela Mueller, DB Congress rep from Wisconsin, who created the Dierks Bentley illustration from Andrew Allen's photo, for her grahics design class.True to his word, Steve featured Angela's artwork in the March 22, 2010 issue of Country Weekly magazine, page 56. Not only that, but he gave the story the entire page of Stars Up Close!
So Steve, you are our DB Congress honorary DBC Rep of the Month! Thanks so much for all your Dierks and DBC support! It means the world to us!
As for the rest of you readers, please go out and buy the March 22 issue and show your support for Country Weekly! You might even want to send a "thank you" email to Steve!
Congratulations, Angela! I know you're on Dierks Cloud #9!

COUNTRY WEEKLY GOES EYE TO EYE WITH DIERKS BENTLEY
Dierks Bentley: What I really think about George Strait. That headline is on the cover of the 1/4/10 Country Weekly issue, along with Dierks' white T mug shot, giving me reason enough to buy the magazine.
The 6-page feature story goes eye to eye with Dierks, digging into dialogue about what a big year 2009 was for the multi-talented, and quick-witted country music artist, whose powers of intelligent observation, keen perception, and mental acuity have all contributed to his success.
Never lacking in his sense of humor, Dierks had this to say when asked, "If you went to a beach and didn't know it was a nude beach, would you stay and go swimming or would you leave?"
"I would leave only because it would probably be like male and female. I don't want to see a bunch of naked dudes [laughs]..."
CW asks Dierks his thoughts on Forbes naming him to the 10 Next Breakout Stars, how he found out that President Obama quoted him and if George Strait ever responded to Dierks giving him the song/CD during the GS Artist of the Decade show. They also asked him to finish sentences such as: "I'm better off without...", and "I can sing better than..."
Dierks also responds to some thought-provoking questions like,'What do you like most about yourself?' 'How do you handle rude people?' 'When was the last time you told a white lie?' and 'If you could have anyone cloned and keep them all to yourself, who would it be?'

Overall, Pat Gallagher did a great job in this 'eye to eye' interview. Although, I half expected the "eye" reference to tie to Dierks' latest single, "I Wanna Make You Close Your Eyes", especially since it's on the verge of becoming his third consecutive number one hit. Never saw it.
Be sure to pick up a copy to read for yourself how Dierks answered these and many more questions. Also, please send your thank you emails to Country Weekly.

COUNTRY WEEKLY REPORTS RIDE TO LIVE
The first thing I do when I buy a Country Weekly magazine every week is quickly flip through every page in search of anything 'Dierks.' Today was no exception for the November 9, 2009 issue (Carrie Underwood on the cover).
The first page I see his photo is at the top right of the Heat Index page with Keith Urban. "All For The Hall. Kudos to Keith Urban and his country star friends for their Oct. 13 concert to raise money and awareness for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum." Um, hello? 'Friends?' That is definitely Dierks Bentley in that photo with Keith. Say his name like only you can say it, please! *Just Kidding ;)
But then I turn 40 more pages and lo and behold--a full page of Mr. Bentley! Ride To Live captures the Miles & Music For Kids event in photographs and a short summary. OK, CW, you redeemed yourself for this issue!
On behalf of the 564 DB Congress representatives, we sincerely thank you for any and all DB exposure you can give us, umm...I mean Dierks, every week!

ROAD DOGS DIERKS AND JAKE MAKE THE COVER OF COUNTRY WEEKLY
Country Weekly's September 21 issue is on sale now! Not that I ever miss buying the magazine every single week, but this week is special! Dierks Bentley is on the cover with his best friend Jake! And this is the second time this year CW has made us Dierks fans very happy by recognizing him as the featured artist on their cover. Seems to me the CMA could learn a lot from Country Weekly!
The article, a six-page spread, surrounds a day in the life of two road dogs - Dierks and Jake. The particular day of interviewing and photo shooting was August 18 in Atlanta, Georgia at The Tabernacle. It's exciting to know I was there that day and got to watch the photo shoot along side many DBC-ers!
Now I could scan in all 6 pages and post them here for you, but what better way can we show our appreciation to CW than to run out and buy our own personal copy? What I will do is share a few of my favorite quotes from the article:
In addition, Dierks is also mentioned throughout the issue on pages 29, 31, and 49, so make sure you get your copy today! I promised Larry lots of sales for this one, so make me proud, DB Congress!

(on being on the road)
"More than anyone else, Jake has seen me at my lowest points...he was there through all of that unpleasant, soul-searching time."
(on his best canine friend)
"They get excited, I take that energy backstage and make it my own when I go on stage...It makes the show more personal."I always make it a point to send a thank you email to CW Editor In Chief, Larry Holden, for any and all Dierks exposure. I want him to know how much I appreciate it. So when I found out a few weeks ago this DB issue was coming, I sent Larry an email and this was his reply:
(on meeting fans in the parking lot)
"Hey, Ronna, we at CW are also extremely happy that Dierks is back on our cover. And, here’s a little known fact—it was Jake who asked him to do it for us!
Larry"
