DIERKS TOPS FORBES "TOP 10" LIST

Forbes.com posted The Next Breakout Stars featuring ten personalities who click with audiences and have the potential to become household names. Our very own DB Congress Prez, Dierks Bentley, made the list--the only musician to do so!

Rounding out the list is country music star Dierks Bentley, a hit with those fans who have discovered him but not yet a breakout act--witness his 14% public awareness ratings. Philpott suggests getting him on a national tour with Kenny Chesney or another well-known artist who has successfully crossed over to the mainstream pop world.

10. Dierks Bentley Country Musician - Like a lot: 43%; Awareness: 14%. The winner of the Academy of Country Music's "Top New Artist" in 2004, Bentley has yet to hit mainstream superstar status, though the fans who have discovered him can't get enough.

  1. Great recognition for Dierks, but I don't agree with the suggestion. He has already toured with Kenny and is currently doing it with a well-known artist. Granted Brad hasn't crossed over to the mainstream pop world, but I'd hate to see Dierks tour with someone who has. What do they want him to do...open for Taylor Swift?!

  2. I'm with Stephanie on this one! Clearly Forbes didn't do much research when it came to Dierks! I don't necessarily want Dierks to have a lot of crossover success, either. I like him the way he is! But I'm glad he made the list -- that is really awesome. There's so much potential!

  3. I agree. I hope Dierks doesn't cross over into the pop world. One thing they said that is so true....the fans who have discovered him can't get enough...Amen to that.

  4. Ultimately we all want to see our DB succeed and be as big of a star as Kenny, or Rascal Flats. The one comforting thing is knowing how down to earth he always will remain even if he is selling out stadiums everywhere....and he'll always remember the "core" of his success, us fans that can never get enough.
It's a long trip alone to the top if you aren't as fan friendly as Dierks!!

  5. I want Dierks dreams to come true. I hate stadium tours, but ...I just hope they don't change his music like they have Taylor's. Take the twang out to make it more palatable????

  6. I printed out and showed him the article they had about him on gactv.com yesterday at the m&g, and he really thought it was interesting. I don't believe it had the part about him touring with Kenny or anything mentioned on gac's snipet of the article though.
